Music I Play

If you want to go back, way back, back into time when dance music hit the scene in the late 70's you have come to the right page
  • Disco started in the late 60's early 70's
  • Disco introduced nationally with the release of Saturday Night Fever
  • Hustle (a disco version of swing) ruled the dance floors with music from the Bee Gees, Van McCoy and Tavares
  • Clubs like the Palladium and Studio 54 where pumping out dance music most nights of the week and lines where forming outside to be part of the music phononinom.
  • The 80's introduced thousands of artists recording disco.  Artists such as Michael Jackson, Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Gloria Gaynor, Dan Hartman, Kool & the Gang, Tramps, Village People, Madonna, Shalamar, France Joli, Sister Sledge, Loleatta Holloway and Jackie Moore just to name a few.
  • As the 80's progressed the music became more dynamic and bass driven.  Night clubs installed insane sound systems and light shows to immerse the crowd in the beat.
  • Rap that was almost exclusively in the African American community was introduced into main stream white night clubs with the release of Rappers Delight.
  • Freestyle and House music also hit the scene in the 80's making the dance clubs come alive with a variety hard hitting bass driven styles of music.  Oh a great time to be going to the clubs.
  • The 90's basically moved Disco to a more main stream name "Dance Music".  This incorporated a more diverse range of music.
